Fighting For Australian Workers Who Have Had Their Wages Stolen By Their Boss

Employers sometimes take deductions from a worker’s wages as a form of punishment, or as some sort of performance management tool.  

For example, if you make a mistake, or accidentally break something at work, and then your boss takes that money out of your wages.

Another example is when your employer might force you to stay on-site in accommodation that they own, and then charge you exorbitant rent which they take out of your wages.

Deductions from your wages are unlawful unless they are authorised by you as the employee, and they must benefit you as an employee.
